What do the letters after my name mean and why are they important to your therapy?

 

MA (Hons): I completed my Master of Arts Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy at The University of Wales in 2010.

 

PGDip (Counselling & Psychotherapy): I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at The University of Wales in 2009.

 

MBACP (Accredited): I achieved accredited status with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in 2012. Accreditation is awarded after completing a substantial amount of post-qualification training and passing additional assessments.
 
In summary, these letters mean I am a highly qualified and specialised counselling and psychotherapy professional. It is extremely important that the professional you choose to help you on your therapy journey is qualified to the appropriate standard.

 

Not only am I academically qualified, but I have over a decade of experience in delivering counselling and psychotherapy sessions with individuals, couples and families. I have worked within corporate organisations, the third sector, the criminal justice system and all four tiers of Welsh Government’s mental health framework.

 

I opened my therapy practice in 2012 and have seen my client base grow to welcome people from all walks of life and experience. Alongside my therapy practice, I am also the founder at fightingandspirit, a training provider that combines martial arts and psychotherapy to boost mental wellness at workshops across the UK.
